Hempstead, NY - Pride women's golfers Cynthia Cheng and Jenna Masnyk have been named to the National Golf Coaches Association All-America Scholar Team it was announced today by the organization. To be eligible for selection to the All-America Scholar Team, student-athletes must possess a minimum cumulative grade point average of 3.50.

Cheng, a native of Sayville, NY, completed her sophomore year with the Pride this past season and holds a 3.89 grade point average as a major in computer science and mathematics. Cheng golfed in every event for the Pride in 2011-12 and averaged 82 strokes per round, which ranked third on the team. The All-America Scholar accolade is the second of Cheng's career.

Masnyk, who wrapped up her junior campaign in 2011-12, carries a 3.74 grade point average and majors in journalism. A native of Lincoln, RI, Masnyk golfed in all 25 rounds on the season for the Pride and ranked second on the team in scoring average at 80.5. Masnyk is making her second appearance on the All-America Scholar Team as well.

A total of 602 collegiate women's golfers in Divisions I, II and III received All-America Scholar accolades.
