Senior Bowl Selects 18 from Big 12
January 17, 2012

Eighteen players from seven different Big 12 schools have officially accepted invitations to the 2012 Senior Bowl. Baylor, Iowa State, Missouri, Oklahoma, Oklahoma State, Texas and Texas A&M will send student-athletes to the bowl.

Texas A&M leads the league with five Senior Bowl invitees, although injuries will prevent two Aggies from participating. Baylor, Oklahoma State and Texas are each sending three players to the senior showcase, while Iowa State will have two players in Mobile. Missouri and Oklahoma will have one football student-athlete in the game.

Sixteen of the 18 Big 12 players selected to play were All-Conference selections while five landed on at least one All-American squad. The list includes the league's leading receiver (Kendall Wright, Baylor), rusher (Terrance Ganaway, Baylor) and Lou Groza Award winner (Randy Bullock, Texas A&M).

The players from Baylor, Oklahoma State, Texas and Texas A&M will play for the South squad while the student-athletes from Iowa State, Missouri and Oklahoma will suit up for the North. Mike Shanahan and his Washington Redskins staff will coach the South team while Leslie Frazier and the Minnesota Vikings will lead the North.

The 2012 game is set for 3 p.m. CT on Saturday, Jan. 28, in Mobile's Ladd-Peebles Stadium. The game and all practices will be televised live on the NFL Network.
