LUBBOCK, Texas - Saint Mary's baseball's junior starting pitcher Martin Agosta was one of 51 pitchers from across the country to be named to the Pitcher of the Year Watch List presented by the College Baseball Hall of Fame.
The winner of the Pitcher of the Year Award will be announced on June 30 in Lubbock, Texas, as part of the annual College Baseball Night of Champions. The event features the presentation of numerous awards and the induction ceremony for this year's Hall of Fame class.
Agosta is 6-2 with a 1.70 ERA; in 74 innings pitched he has allowed just 56 hits and 14 earned runs with 63 strike outs to 21 walks. He is 22nd in the country in earned run average, 45th in victories, 56th in the nation in strikeouts and 73rd in hits allowed per nine innings (6.81).
In three season, Agosta has tallied 16 wins which ranks tied for eighth all-time at SMC. His 191 strike outs ranks 10th all-time at SMC.
Agosta is one of four pitchers from the West Coast Conference. He is joined by Portland's Kyle Krauss and Travis Radke and San Diego's Michael Wagner.

Saint Mary's will return to action on Friday, when Agosta toes the rubber against rival Santa Clara at 6:00 p.m., at Stephen Schott Stadium.
