The Gaels jumped out to a 1-0 lead with three quick doubles wins. Jenny Jullien and Jade Frampton teamed up on court one to defeat Katie Edwards and Kristina Zauere, 8-3. Saint Mary's claimed the point at the No. 2 spot, where Anna Chkhikvishvili and Catherine Isip earned an 8-2 win over Madeline Parker and Prue Teitzel.
In singles play, the Gaels went up 2-0 on court two, with No. 88 Jullien making quick work of Edwards, 6-1, 6-0. Lindlar won the next match at the No. 6 spot, defeating Britta Stime, 6-0, 6-2, while Leduc claimed the match for Saint Mary's with a 6-2, 6-3 win on court five.
Frampton won her match on court three over Peek, 6-3, 6-3, followed by Isip defeating Teitzel on court one, 6-3, 6-2. Chkhikvishvili completed the afternoon sweep of Gonzaga on court four with a three-set win over Zauere.
The Gaels will return to action on Sunday when they host Portland at 11 a.m. from the Timothy Korth Tennis Complex.
