No. 36 Saint Mary's improved to 7-5 with the win Sunday, while Pacific drops to 4-8 on the year.
The Gaels jumped all over the Tigers in doubles play and SMC won on all three courts for the second consecutive day. Jenny Jullien and Jade Frampton teamed up on court one to defeat Iveta Masarova and Julia Hansen, 8-2, while Elizabeth Searl and Carla Lindlar won on court three by the same score to clinch the point. Catherine Isip and Catherine Leduc completed the doubles sweep for SMC, topping Summer Irvin and Regina Suarez at the No. 2 spot, 8-2.
In singles play, the Gaels earned two-set wins on all six courts to blank the Tigers. Searl won the first match on court six, defeating Megan Yu, 6-1, 6-0, while Leduc also made quick work at the No. 5 spot earning a 6-0, 6-0 win over Suarez. Senior Anna Chkhikvishvili claimed the match for Saint Mary's on court three, topping Summer Irvin, 6-4, 6-0.
Frampton earned the next point for the Gaels on court four, defeating Boncheva 6-0, 6-2. No. 97 Jullien topped Hansen, 6-1, 7-6, at the No. 2 spot to win her sixth consecutive match, while No. 112 Isip completed the SMC sweep on court one with a 7-5, 6-3 win over Masarova.
The Gaels will return to action next weekend with two matches. Saint Mary's will take on Boise State at home on Saturday, March 17, and then travel to take on Sacramento State the following day.
