LOS ANGELES - The Saint Mary's men's tennis team hit the road for another tough match, this time falling to No. 8 UCLA 7-0 on Sunday. The Bruins won the doubles point and then swept through singles play to earn the win.

UCLA improves to 11-1 with the win, while the Gaels fall to 2-7 on the season.

The Bruins jumped out to a quick 1-0 lead with wins on all three doubles courts. The Gaels put up a tough fight on court three, but Seif El Sherbini and Sherif Hamdy fell to Warren Hardie and Clay Thompson, 8-6.

UCLA proved to be too deep in singles play, with four of their six players ranked in the ITA singles poll. The Bruins got quick wins on courts six, four, and two to earn the win. Saad Benkirane put up the toughest fight in singles play on court three, but ultimately fell to No. 108 Marcus Giron, 6-7 (8), 6-2, 1-0 (12-10).

The Gaels return to action tomorrow for a 12 p.m. match against UC Riverside.
