TOWSON, Md. - The Tigers ended their regular season on a positive note with a 6-1 victory over city rival Loyola Tuesday on senior day at the Towson Center Tennis Courts, evening the team's overall record to 12-12.

The Tigers won all three doubles matches, a big key in the team's success according to Tiger Head Coach Doug Neagle.

"We really needed to win the doubles point and that's very big for our confidence," Neagle said. "It was a good way to end the regular season and hopefully that gives us some momentum for the CAAs."

The Tigers earned straight set singles victories from five different players, including Nani Lizana, Nisha Shah, Ayana Dow, Andrea Samlin and Ariel Burke.

Shah picked up her team-high 19th singles victory this season by defeating Loyola's Sabrina Fedele 6-1 and 6-1, while Burke and Dow each recorded their 15th singles victories of the season in the win.

Towson begins play in the Colonial Athletic Association Championship Thursday at 9 a.m. as the ninth seed against eighth-seeded Drexel. The tournament is hosted by Old Dominion University.
