TOWSON, Md. –The Tigers will close out the regular season Tuesday with a home match against cross-town rival Loyola beginning at 3:30 p.m. at the Towson Center Tennis Courts.

The Tigers will be looking for its first win since Apr. 9 when the team defeated George Mason by a 6-1 score.

Now 11-12 overall this season and 2-4 in the Colonial Athletic Association, the Tigers are coming off a tough 7-0 loss to James Madison Sunday.

A number of young players have developed as key contributors for the Tigers and Head Coach Doug Neagle this season. Led by sophomore Nisha Shah’s team-high 18 singles victories, three Tiger underclassmen have recorded at least 14 singles wins this season. Sophomore Ariel Burke has a 14-7 record this season, while freshman Ayana Dow has been a consistent performer en route to a 14-11 record in her rookie season.

The Tigers have also been aided by key veterans in seniors Aandria Carr and Andrea Samlin, who have provided both depth and leadership to the team. Samlin is 13-13 in singles play this season, while Carr has routinely faced the opposing school’s top player at No.1 singles.

The Greyhounds enter the match having won two of their last three matches. However, in the team’s most recent match against Marist, Loyola fell 4-3.
