TOWSON, Md. - As the Tigers prepare for their regular season finale against George Mason on Saturday night, freshman goalkeeper Erin Quinn took a few minutes to chat with TowsonTigers.com.

A native of Mount Airy, Md., Quinn was a two-time all-state selection at South Carroll H.S. and led the Cavaliers to county and conference championships as a senior. She made her college debut in the Tigers' 4-2 loss against Delaware on Sunday and recorded five saves.

TowsonTigers.com: What makes playing soccer special to you?
Erin Quinn:
I've been playing soccer since I was 4 years old and I enjoy it more and more every year. Soccer is huge in my family; my dad played as a goalkeeper for UMBC and my cousin is a goalkeeper at Villanova. In addition, both of my brothers are goalkeepers. I meet a lot of new people while playing soccer and there are so many good memories that I have from playing soccer and from being with my teammates.

TT.com: Which teammate do you admire the most and why?
EQ: I admire Jocelyn Papciak. She is a great player and a great role model on and off the field. She has a lot of fun ideas for the team to do and She is a great leader. In addition, Jocelyn is also a great motivator because she helps build our confidence by encouraging us when we make a mistake and pushes us to do better.

TT.com: What is your most memorable soccer experience and what made it so special?
EQ: Winning the State Cup in 2008 for the first time in penalty kicks and then going to the semi-finals in regionals. This brought our team to another level of soccer and showed us all of the hard work we were doing really paid off. It was also a great bonding experience for the team. We all did so many different activities and played a lot of games and it helped bring our team closer together on and off the field.

TT.com: What do you like about Towson University?
EQ: It has a nice campus with a wide variety of things to do. It is a good distance from home where it is far enough away from home but close enough in case I need anything.

TT.com: If you weren't playing soccer, what sport would you play and why?
EQ: It would be basketball since I have been playing since fourth grade and I really enjoy playing it.
