BALTIMORE, Md. - Cast in the role as Colonial Athletic Association pre-season favorites, Coach Rob Ambrose, defensive end Frank Beltre and safety Jordan Dangerfield represented the Tiger football team at the CAA's annual Media Day at M&T Bank Stadium.

All three of them were the subjects of many media interviews.

"The time went by very quickly," said Coach Ambrose, who was continually in demand throughout the day. "It is very humbling to be picked as the CAA favorites in a league filled with so many Hall of Fame coaches.

"However, we have gone from being the hunters to the hunted," he adds. "When everybody starts telling you how great you are, it's pretty easy to sit back and be lackadaisical and think you already made it. That's been the greatest challenge in all of the things that we've done, to change the focus and make sure the foundation of what we have done stays strong."

From the time he arrived at the media day, the Tiger coach was directed from one interview to the next. At one point, he had three members of the media lined up to interview him.

It was a dramatic change from previous years when Towson was viewed as also-rans and the Tiger coach wasn't in demand.

While the Tigers were selected as the CAA pre-season favorites, Beltre and Dangerfield joined sophomore Terrance West as the only Towson representatives on the Pre-Season All-CAA team.

Meanwhile, Old Dominion, Delaware and Maine each had five players honored. James Madison had four honorees.

But, Coach Ambrose didn't feel slighted. He explained, "I think that is an example of what we are about. We have good team - and we are a team."

Many media members asked Beltre and Dangerfield where their championship rings were. They were quick to respond, "That was last year. It's over. We are focused on this season."
