Tri-Match Saturday Opens VMI Home Wrestling Season
LEXINGTON, Va. – The VMI wrestling team opens the 2019-20 home season Saturday with a tri-match with Franklin & Marshall and Davidson Colleges in Cormack Hall. The Keydets face F&M at 11 a.m. and Davidson at 3 p.m., with the second match also the first Southern Conference battle of the year for the two teams. Franklin & Marshall and Davidson square off at 1 p.m.

VMI competed against the University of Maryland and American University Saturday at the American University Round Robin. Red-shirt senior Neal Richards won three matches on the day at 174 pounds, scoring major decision victories over two foes from American. Zach Brown pinned an opponent at 197, Cliff Conway (133) and Dom Gallo (141) each won victories and Seth Fillers and Will Lawrence earned wins at 149 and 157, respectively.
The Keydets defeated Davidson 29-13 last season on the road, winning six of the 10 matches. F&M defeated VMI 33-8 in Lancaster, Pa.
