Wrestling Holds Intrasquad Scrimmage
LEXINGTON, Va. – The VMI wrestling team held its annual Intrasquad scrimmage Thursday in Cormack Hall, with the Yellow Team scoring a 26-18 victory over the Black Team.
The Yellow Team won five of the nine matches, including three by fall: freshman John McGarry at 125, junior Will Lawrence at 157 and freshman Zachary Brown at 197. Red-shirt senior Neal Richards won by technical fall at 174 and fellow red-shirt senior Dom Gallo earned a win at 141.
Senior Max Gallahan paced the Black squad with a pin at 184. Freshman Job Chishko earned a technical fall victory at 149, freshman Jon Hoover won by major decision at 165 and junior Cliff Conway won at 133.
The Keydets open the 2019-20 season on Sunday, November 3 at the Hokie Open in Roanoke, Va.
