Randy Mearns, Class of 1992- Men's Lacrosse

  • Three-year midfielder and also a member of the first Men's Lacrosse team in 1990
  • Earned records in single season points in 1990 with 94, and ranks second in career points (190) and sixth in career goals (95)
  • Earned 49 assists for the single-season record in 1990 and his 95 career assists are the most all-time by a lacrosse player
  • Won the MILL World Championship with the Buffalo Bandits in 1993, and also helped lead the Rochester Knighthawks to four championship appearances in 1996, 1997, 1999, and 2000
  • Starting in 1999, he became the Head Coach of the Canisius men's lacrosse program, leading the program to their first winning season in 2001 and first MAAC playoff appearance in 2003
  • In 2008, Mearns helped lead the Golden Griffins to a school-record ten wins, tied for the MAAC regular season title, and won the school's first tournament championship, and would earn their first-ever spot in the NCAA Tournament
  • First former men's lacrosse player inducted in the Hall of Fame
