Ed Book ('91) - A four-year letter winner in basketball, Edward F. Book ranks among the college's all-time career leaders in scoring with 1,317 points, rebounding with 618 boards and field-goal percentage at 51%. Book posted 70 double-digit scoring performances during his career and tied the single game school mark for blocked shots with six. The Buffalo native led Canisius in scoring twice during his four-year career, including his senior season when he joined the exclusive 500-point club by averaging over 17 points per contest. Book also led the Griffs in rebounding as a senior and as a result became the first Griff to receive all-league honors from the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference. The Griffs team captain in 1991-92 also received honors from the North Atlantic Conference when he made the league's all-rookie team in 1989. Other accolades included being selected MVP of the Pepsi Marist Classic, being named a pre-season honorable mention All-American by Street & Smith's Magazine, earning preseason all-conference nods by The Sporting News and receiving mention on The Basketball Times and Eastern Basketball All-Rookie Teams. Since his graduation, Ed Book has played professionally in both Australia and New Zealand.
