CEDAR CITY, Utah, March 20 – Southern Utah began spring football drills Tuesday afternoon with a limited-contact practice at Eccles Coliseum.

The Thunderbirds took the field in shorts, jerseys and helmets for the 90-minute workout that included running, stretching, position drills, limited contact offense-vs.-defense drills and limited special teams drills.

The team will hold another limited contact practice on Thursday at 4:30 p.m. before donning full pads for the first time on Saturday morning at 10:30.

Per NCAA regulations the team will be able to run a limited number of full-contact plays on Saturday during a short scrimmage during the practice session in the Coliseum.
