Junior Jenn Ludemann and the Seahawks suffered a 2-0 setback at defending CAA champion James Madison Sunday
HARRISONBURG, Virginia - Sophomore Haley Miller tallied a goal and an assist to lead James Madison to a 2-0 victory over UNCW in Colonial Athletic Association women's soccer action Sunday at the JMU Soccer Complex.

The Dukes improved to 7-5-2 overall and 4-2 in league play while the Seahawks slipped to 2-11 and 0-5. Both teams return to action Oct. 14 with conference contests. UNCW hosts George Mason while JMU travels to Drexel. Both contests are set for a 7 p.m. kickoff.

Following a scoreless first half, the Dukes got on the board in the 61st minute when Miller stationed herself at the left post and knocked home a corner kick from sophomore Lauren Wilson for her second goal of the season.

Freshman Katie Hyland doubled the JMU advantage at the 76:19 mark as she placed a shot from the top of the box into the right side of the net for her second tally of the campaign. Miller was credited with an assist on the play.

JMU posted a 19-7 shot advantage in the contest, highlighted by a 10-3 edge in the second half. Both teams were credited with six corner kicks during the contest.

Freshman Kate Courter made four saves between the pipes for the Dukes as she recorded her seventh shutout of the season. Junior Caitlin Hunter made four saves in goal for the Seahawks.
