Clemson, S.C. -Carson Sears added to an impressive list of accomplishments a Top 3 finish in the Hammer Throw at the Bob Pollock Invitational on the campus of Clemson University on Saturday.

The sophomore from Suwanee, Ga. finished third in the event at 59.47 m. Sears, a member of the 2011-12 Indoor and Outdoor Big South All-Academic teams, won his first ever Conference title in the Hammer Throw earlier this season.

Also achieving a top finish for the Runnin' Bulldogs was senior Josh Padgett (Forest City, N.C.). Padgett, a recipient of the Big South's Christenberry Award earlier this month, earned a 10th place finish in the Hammer Throw at 46.56 m. The performance marked a personal best for the senior.

Gardner-Webb track & field is set to return to action next weekend, May 11-12, at the Clemson Invitational.
