Blanco -- Sam Houston State's women's golf team is tied for fourth place with Central Arkansas after the first 18 holes of the 2012 Southland Conference Championships.

The 54-hole, three-day event is being played on the par 72, 5,968-yard course at Vaaler Creek Golf Club.

UTSA holds the first round team lead with a 290 total. Texas State is in second at 301 followed by Lamar 305, Central Arkansas and SHSU 312, Texas A&M-Corpus Christi 316, McNeese State 335 and Stephen F. Austin 338.

Shannon Jungman of UTSA and Malin Sennery of Central Arkansas are tied for the tournament individual medalist leadership. Both shot two-under 70 totals.

Megan Musk leads Sam Houston with a 10th place four-over 76. Shelby Hardy is in 12th at 77, Jessica Borth in 16th at 79, Jackie Smith 20th with an 80 and Jenne Stene 28th with an 83.
