Andrews Recognized Again By NCCSIA

WILMINGTON, North Carolina - Sophomore point guard Alisha Andrews was recognized as a Second-Team University Division All-State selection by the North Carolina Collegiate Sports Information Association (NCCSIA) on Monday.
Ten players representing six different North Carolina Colleges and Universities were named to the 2011-12 NCCSIA University Division All-State Teams. Ali Ford of Elon, Anna Freeman of Appalachian State, Jennifer Hailey of Charlotte and Shamia Brown and Cheyenne Parker of High Point were all selected to the first team. The second team consists of Andrews, Tonisha Baker of Campbell, Kelsey Evans of Elon, Erin Reynolds of High Point and Epiphany Woodson of Charlotte.
Andrews was recognized as a Second-Team All-State selection for the second consecutive season after pacing the Seahawks in scoring (11.9), assists (4.8) and steals (2.7) during the 2011-12 campaign. The Second-Team All-CAA and CAA All-Defensive Team honoree started all 33 games and responded with 21 double-figure scoring performances and two double-digit assist efforts as she guided UNCW to its second straight 20-win season and an appearance in the Postseason WNIT.
A native of Stone Mountain, Ga., Andrews will enter her junior season among the program's career leaders in assists (324/3rd), steals (186/4th) and three-point field goals made (132/3rd).

professionals from NCAA Division I, II, III, NAIA and independent institutions
from the state of North Carolina. The purpose of the organization is to
promote collegiate athletics at all schools. Membership is open to anyone
affiliated with a college, university or conference located in North Carolina,
and whose area of responsibility lies within sports information.
