The UNCW volleyball team will open its spring exhibition schedule Saturday with matches against Charlotte, Duke, Georgia and James Madison at UNC Chapel Hill's Spring Play Day
WILMINGTON, North Carolina - The UNCW volleyball team opens its spring exhibition schedule Saturday with an appearance in UNC Chapel Hill's Spring Play Day at Carmichael Arena.

The Seahawks will open the event with an 11 a.m. match against Southeastern Conference foe Georgia and will also face Atlantic Coast Conference rival Duke (Noon), Colonial Athletic Association counterpart James Madison (1 p.m.) and Atlantic 10 adversary Charlotte (2 p.m.) during the exhibition competition. Each match will consist of two 25-point games.

"Because we have 11 returning players, my goal this spring was to schedule tough competition to give our team extra incentive to improve and train hard," said UNCW Head Coach Amy Bambenek. "This is a great opportunity for our girls to play against some of the top ACC, SEC and A-10 teams as well as CAA rival JMU.  This tournament will be one of the strongest our team has ever faced, and I'm excited to see how we match up and what we can learn from this experience."

UNC Chapel Hill's Spring Play Day is one of four events that the Seahawks will participate in this spring, also taking part in competitions at Duke (April 7), Campbell (April 14) and East Carolina (TBD).
