WILMINGTON, North Carolina - Shaun Utterson knocked home his own rebound following a save on a penalty kick with 90 seconds remaining to lift UNCW to a 2-1 win over visiting Hartford in the Courtyard by Marriott Classic at the UNCW Soccer Stadium.

The Seahawks ran their record to 1-3 with the non-conference win while the Hawks dropped to 1-3 with the road set back.

With the game tied at 1-all, UNCW had a player pulled down in the penalty area on a cross from the rightside. Utterson stepped up to take the penalty, but Hartford goalkeeper Luke Citriniti made the initial stop. The ball deflected off the cross bar and landed at the feet of Utterson who tucked away the winning margin.

After the game was scoreless at the intermission, UNCW jumped in front taking advantage of a Hartford miscue for an own goal in the 56th minute. On the play, a UH defender deflected a corner kick inside the right post for the first goal.

The Hawks, however, drew even just over six minutes later when Rohan Roye headed home a cross from the rightside by Mathias Axelsson in the 62nd minute.

UNCW held a 14-9 advantage in shots and a 6-3 lead in corner kicks.

UNCW's senior goalkeeper Brandon Miller made a pair of saves as did Citriniti.

The Seahawks return to action on Sunday with a 3:30 p.m. start against Wofford, a 1-0 loser to Campbell in the opening match of the tournament on Friday.
