WINTER PARK, Fla. (November 9, 2011) - After falling to No.18 in previous poll the Tars have rebounded seven spots, to No.11 and are fresh after claiming their third Sunshine State Conference Tournament championship in program history.
Rollins finished the regular-season and conference tournament with a 15-3 record overall and a 10-1 mark at home. The Tars used their offensive weapons by outscoring opponents 7-2 and Rafa Faria collected Most Outstanding Player accolades for his performance through the tournament.
After beating Eckerd the Tars used a 3-0 shutout of Florida Tech to gain rematch against Barry. Rollins quickly went up 2-0 in the first half, but were tested in the final period as Barry tallied one goal to cut the lead. Keneil Baker and the backline held strong for the Tars en route to preserving the win.
Rollins earned the No.1 seed in the South Region and will host the tournament, which will see the Tars and Bucs play again for a second time within a week. The two previous meetings have seen the Tars outscore the Bucs, 4-2.
The Tars will also play host to Christian Brothers against Lynn on Nov.11 at 2p.m.
