Jays' Crew Squad Picked to Finish Sixth in WCC

SAN BRUNO, Calif. - In its third season of competition in the West Coast Conference (WCC), the Creighton women's crew team has been picked to finish sixth in the WCC Preseason Poll.

Head coaches of the seven WCC teams vote on the preseason poll, with coaches unable to vote for their own team.

Two Jays were named to the Preseason All-West Coast Conference Team, also picked by the league coaches, junior Laura Jo Washle and sophomore Anne Marie Stonikas

"We have a very hard working team that has shown a great deal of growth since the beginning of the fall," said Creighton head coach Dan Chipps.  "I believe this squad has a chance to surprise some teams."

In their first two seasons in the WCC the Jays have finished fourth (2011) and sixth (2012).  Creighton begins the 2013 season with a training trip to Austin from March 9-17.
