(Kansas City, Mo.)  - The UMKC women's basketball program announced today that Jordan Evans has signed a National Letter of Intent to continue her education and playing career with the Kangaroos starting with the 2012-13 season.

Evans joins the 'Roos out of Webster High School in Tulsa, Okla., where she received All-Metro Honorable Mention honors and led her team to the 4A Area 3 District Championship the past three seasons, while being named to the Second Team All-Green Country Conference Team in 2012.  Three times, she has been named to an all-tournament team, including twice as the tournament MVP.

Last summer, ESPN's Brandon Clay said of the 6-2 post, "She's still got some work to do on the offensive end but her length and willingness to rebound and defend makes her a legitimate player to follow for colleges needing a post.  Her length allows her to get up and down the floor.  She finished around the rim on both sides and has real upside as her body fills out with a college weight program."

Evans joins Kelsey Barnwell (5-8 - Jay, Okla. - Kansas), Lauren Dudding (5-9 - Lubbock, Texas - Coronado), Taylor Leathers (6-0 - Overland Park, Kan. - Blue Valley) and Kara Lee (6-4 - Topeka, Kan. - Hutchinson CC/Seaman) to form the five member 2012 UMKC women's basketball recruiting class.

UMKC also announced that Brittany Atkins has been granted a full release from her National Letter of Intent and will not be attending UMKC next season.
