(Kansas City, Mo.) -- Members of the UMKC volleyball team took part in a community service project on Saturday, Feb. 11, when they helped build a home in association with the Habitat for Humanity organization.

During the project, the 'Roos completed a variety of tasks to help build a home for those less fortunate. Each player contributed to laying the wood laminate flooring in two bedrooms and the main living room area and also became skilled in using two different types of saws. Many of the players painted the trim work and doors as well.

The 'Roos were represented by: Chloe Jarema, Emily Lucas, Morgan Voorhes, Brittney Robers, Ella Meier, Brittany Fossier, Annie Gladbach, Elizabeth Beck and Christiana McQuin.

Habitat for Humanity International is a nonprofit, nondenominational Christian housing ministry that welcomes all people-regardless of race, religion, ethnicity or any other difference-to build and repair simple, decent, affordable houses with those who lack adequate shelter.
