Senior Katrina Schwab (Spokane, Wash.) has been named Great West Player of the Week after last Sunday's straight-set victory against Northern Arizona.

In the last home match of her collegiate career, Schwab blew by the Lumberjacks' Ghizelene Doballah in two sets. She doubled up Doballah 6-3 in the first set then swept the second for a 6-3, 6-0 victory. The win, her third straight singles victory, was her ninth individual and 22nd combined win of the dual season.

By winning her singles match, Schwab claimed one point for the SU and tied the dual score at two points apiece. At the time of the win, three matches had yet to finish and the Redhawks had a chance at victory. They only found one more point, however, and fell 4-3 to NAU.

This is the third straight Great West Player of the Week honor for Seattle University women's tennis as Lindsey Newman (Freeland, Wash.) won the award April 6 and Corinne Wurden (Poulsbo, Wash.) took home the designation April 13.

The Seattle University women's tennis team (12-13) is ranked second at this weekend's Great West Conference Championship in Harlingen, Texas. Seattle U faces the winner of third-seeded and tournament host Texas-Pan American and fifth-seeded CSU Bakersfield Saturday, April 20 with a scheduled start time of 4:00 p.m. PST.
