The Presbyterian College baseball team ended its 2012 season with a hard- fought back-and-forth, 4-3, loss to Campbell this afternoon at Taylor Field in Buies Creek, N.C.

PC ends the season with a 24-31 overall record, which ties for the best win total in its Division I era.  The 10-14 Big South record gives the Blue Hose its most league wins as well.  Campbell improves to 40-16, 15-9.

With two outs in the top of the third, PC recorded back-to-back walks to put runners at first and second.  A double by Kenny Bryant down the right field line drove in a run to make it 1-0 in favor of the Blue Hose.

Campbell responded with a double and a walk to start the bottom of the fourth.  Ben Fish hit a sacrifice fly to drive in a run, with a RBI single by Erick Gaylord bringing home the second to make it 2-1.

Brad Zebedis tied the game in the top of the fifth after knocking a sacrifice fly to left field to plate Andrew Williams, who singled to lead off the inning.

The tie was short-lived when Campbell's Jimmy Brenneman, who walked to lead off the bottom of the fifth, scored after David Olson hit into a fielder's choice.

Jay Lizanich flied out to left in the top of the sixth for the sacrifice fly, scoring Robbie Swab, who had walked two batters earlier, and the game was tied again at three.

The Camels opened the bottom of the seventh with a double and a single, and made it a 4-3 game two batters later when Fish hit a RBI single through the left side.

PC threatened in the top of the eighth, putting runners on second and third with one out, but Matt Marksberry, who came in relief to pitch for Campbell, struck out the final two batters of the inning to leave PC with nothing to show for its early effort.

Bryant hit a single through the right side to start things off in the top of the ninth.  After Aaron Preston struck out, Ryan Burt singled to left field to put runners on first and second.  However, Tony Micklon grounded into a double play to end the game and the season with Campbell on top 4-3.

Michael Ricchi came to relieve Beau Dees and threw 2.0 innings.  He gave up one run off three hits and struck out three, taking the loss for the Blue Hose (1-4).  Andrew Jacobsen pitched 2.0 innings for a one hit shutout for Campbell in the win (7-0).

Bryant led the PC offense, going three-for-five with one RBI.  Fish went one-for-three with two RBI for Campbell.
