Shafaat Makes CFPA Tight Ends Watch List
Sophomore Faysal Shafaat
University of Tennessee at Chattanooga sophomore Faysal Shafaat was recently named to the College Football Performance Awards Tight End Watch list for the upcoming season.  He is one of two Southern Conference players, joining Samford's Zeke Walters, on the 36-man docket.

Shafaat (6-5, 240) started all 11 games for the Mocs, making the SoCon All-Freshman team in 2011.  He was fourth on the team in receiving with 19 catches for 179 yards and two touchdowns.

A native of Orlando, Fla., Shafaat has the size of a tight end, but the speed of a receiver.  He improved his blocking throughout the season and was a valuable weapon in the Mocs offense.

Shafaat is No. 1 on the depth chart heading into the fall and could be an all-conference caliber player.  He also had a strong year in the classroom, making the Athletics Directors honor roll both semesters.

The Mocs open the season with a trip to South Florida on Sept. 1.  The home schedule kicks off on Thursday, Sept. 13 against Glenville State.  Season tickets are on sale now with more information available here.
