University of Tennessee at Chattanooga sophomore Levi Clemons has been added to the NCAA Wrestling Championship field of 33 today. Brackets were announced yesterday that did not include Clemons, but after a withdrawal from one of the qualifying participants, he was informed of his bid this morning.
Clemons, a native of Kissimmee, Fla., placed third at last week's Southern Conference championships. He was 21-14 overall and will be making his first trip to the NCAA Tournament.
The Mocs will send a total of five wrestlers to the NCAAs, including Clemons, freshman Nick Soto (133), junior Dean Pavlou (149) and seniors Dan Waddell (157) and Brandon Wright (165).
Chattanooga won the 2012 SoCon Championships last weekend, their 26th in school history. UTC went 12-6 in the regular season, finishing second in the SoCon with a 5-1 league mark.
