Women eighth at Bradley

PEORIA, Ill. — In its final tuneup before the Summit League Championships, the South Dakota State University women's cross country team posted an eighth-place finish at the Bradley University Cross Country Classic Friday afternoon.

Individually, the Jackrabbits were led by Danielle Burke, who finished 24th overall in the 6,000-meter race with a time of 22 minutes, 9.47 seconds. Erin Hargens was next for SDSU, clocking a 27th-place time of 22:12.02.

Other scoring runners for the Jackrabbits included Courtney Neubert, 33rd in 22:18.48; Tera Potts, 72nd in 22:55.88, and Danielle McCann, 73rd in 22:55.88.

Krista Deceault of Illinois State won the race in 20:56.15.

In the team standings, Missouri won the 21-team meet with 65 points, followed by Illinois State with 89 and Eastern Michigan with 124.

The Summit League Championships are scheduled for Oct. 29 on the campus of Oral Roberts University in Tulsa, Okla.
