BALTIMORE - The Loyola University Maryland men’s golf team learned Monday night that it will head to Athens, Ga., to compete in the NCAA Regional hosted by the University of Georgia at the University of Georgia Golf Course.

The Greyhounds won their fifth-straight MAAC Championship to qualify for the NCAA Regional. They will compete against 12 other teams at the event; Alabama, North Florida, New Mexico, Iowa, East Carolina, Long Beach State, Augusta State, Wake Forest, Houston, Texas-Arlington, UNC Wilmington and the host Bulldogs.

The Atlanta Regional will be a 54-hole tournament, conducted May 17-19. Thirteen teams and 10 individuals not on those teams will compete at the regional, with the low five teams and the low individual not on those teams advancing to the finals.

Senior Jay Mulieri led the Greyhounds at the MAAC Championships, winning the individual title with a 4-under 212 to become the 10th Greyhound to earn the McLeod Memorial Award. As a team, Loyola finished with a league-record 4-over 868.
