Selected as an All-Southland Conference Honorable Mention… Named the Southland Conference Pitcher of the Week on March 24… Started 14 games on the mound with a 3-4 record as a sophomore… Finished second on the team with a 3.11 earned run average… Was ninth in the Southland and led the Golden Eagles with 63 strikeouts in 81 innings of work… Tied for the fewest home runs allowed in the conference with one… Earned a season high nine strikeouts in a no decision against Harvard (2/28)… Struck out eight batters in just 5.1 innings in a rain-shortened outing against Northwestern State (3/15)… Earned a complete game, two-hit shutout, for his first win of the season at McNeese State (3/21)… Allowed one run in seven innings for his second victory of the season at Stephen F. Austin (4/11)… Beat Abilene Christian (5/11) with six strikeouts in five innings.
Pitched in 21 games in his first season with the Golden Eagles, including one start... Went 2-1 with a 3.40 ERA... Struck out 33 batters in 39.2 innings of work... Made his ORU debut with a start against Wichita State (2/19), allowing three runs in 5.1 innings of work... Struck out four batters in two innings of perfect relief against Southeast Missouri (3/3)... Threw 2.1 scoreless innings against Oklahoma (3/26)... Tossed two scoreless frames against Sam Houston State (4/21)... Had his best day against Lamar (5/5), throwing six innings of relief to pick up the win, giving up just one run while fanning five in the victorious outing... Son of Guillermo and Sandra Trujillo... majoring in theology... chose ORU over Arizona, New Mexico, Lamar, North Carolina and Texas Tech because of the Christian atmosphere, academics and athletics.
