“Coach Dawson brings a wealth of experience to the ORU tennis program, and she is a fantastic fit for this position,” said Director of Athletics Mike Carter. “Her time as an elite collegiate player, a touring professional and a youth instructor is invaluable as we look to further the success of our women’s tennis team.”

Dawson brings a wide variety of experience to the Golden Eagle women’s tennis program. As a collegian, Dawson competed at Texas Tech University from 2000-03. She was an All-Big 12 Conference doubles selection in 2002 and 2003 and graduated in 2003 with a B.S. in Exercise & Sports Sciences.

Following graduation, Dawson spent three seasons in Melbourne, Australia, where she was the Head Tennis Coach at Holy Cross University. Dawson was responsible for all aspects of team management, including recruiting, training and scheduling, during her time at Holy Cross. During the offseason at Holy Cross, Dawson served as an ITA Touring Pro in The Hamptons, where she worked with several local celebrities and WTA professionals.

After her time in Australia, Dawson spent time as the Head Tennis Coach at Texas Woman’s University and the Assistant Coach at the University of Texas at Dallas. In 2007, Dawson transitioned into youth training as the Assistant Junior Director at Gleneagles Country Club in Plano, Texas. At Gleneagles, Dawson trained nine youth players who went on to play collegiate tennis at the NCAA Division I level.

In 2010, Dawson moved to St. Stephen’s Episcopal School in Austin, Texas, where she became a developmental coach in the Tennis Academy. Dawson recruited players from around the country to St. Stephens, and she also was responsible for tournament entry, coordinating travel and on-court tennis instruction.
