Richard McCutchen
Position: Assistant A.D./Marketing
Phone: 918-495-6616
Richard McCutchen is in his seventh season with the Oral Roberts University athletic department and his second as the Assistant Athletic Director for Marketing. In his role, McCutchen coordinates and executes all in-game promotional activities for Golden Eagle home events, and he is instrumental in the athletic department’s efforts to develop and manage sponsorship opportunities.

McCutchen has played an integral role in the transformation of ORU athletic marketing efforts since he arrived on campus in January of 2007. The Tulsa native created ORU’s first Game Operations Marketing Plan, expanded ORU’s Kids Club and advertising efforts, consulted the department during its purchase of a new center-hung video scoreboard for the Mabee Center and dramatically increased the amount of in-game giveaways and promotions at ORU athletic events.

In his new role as Assistant Athletic Director, McCutchen coordinates all of the athletic department’s marketing efforts, promoting the Golden Eagle brand inside of the stadium, across the ORU campus and throughout the city of Tulsa. He also manages the department’s ticketing operations and continues to oversee game day marketing operations.

Prior to joining the ORU athletic department, McCutchen served as a Marketing Services Coordinator for the New Orleans/Oklahoma City Hornets of the National Basketball Association. In his role with the Hornets, McCutchen coordinated and executed all in-arena promotional events and giveaways, managed the team’s game night marketing staff and coordinated several community outreach programs. McCutchen was a vital member of the staff as the Hornets built community goodwill, laying the groundwork for the Oklahoma City Thunder to relocate to the city in 2008.

McCutchen is a 2005 graduate of Oklahoma State University, where he earned his B.S. in business administration. While at OSU, McCutchen served as a sports marketing intern and was a member of both the National Society of Collegiate Scholars and the Marketing Club of OSU.
