WINTER PARK, Fla. (June 19, 2012) - The Rollins women's soccer team, led by second-year head coach and reigning NSCAA South Region Coach of the Year Alicia Milyak, has announced their 2012 schedule.

The Tars look to build from a season a year ago where they were upset in the NCAA tournament in the second round by conference foe, Tampa. Gone are three of last season's top performers, including All-American selection Charlotte Murrell. But Milyak welcomes a recruiting class of seven to add to a solid core of veteran talent with sights set on a Sunshine State Conference title that fell just out of reach in 2011, finishing second in the regular season standings before dropping the SSC tournament final to Tampa, 2-0.

To begin the year, Rollins welcomes Flagler College to Winter Park on Aug. 21 for an exhibition. The Tars shut out Saints, 2-0, in a regular season contest last season in St. Augustine.

Rollins will then open the regular season with a four-game road trip, first traveling to Denver, Colorado to play Metro State (Sep. 1) and then a Regis team that finished their 2011 season ranked 16th in the country (Sep. 3), the first of five 2012 Tars opponents that finished in the top 25 in 2011.

Rollins then travels to Pensacola for games against West Georgia on Sep. 7 and North Georgia on Sep. 9 to conclude the road trip.

SSC play begins Sep. 12 when the Tars open up at home against Eckerd followed by road contests at Lynn (Sep. 15) and Florida Southern (Sep.19) before again returning home to host Florida Tech on Sep. 26.

In their final game in September, Rollins travels to Tampa (Sep. 29) to try to avenge losses in the SSC tournament final and the second round of the NCAA tournament in 2011 to open up what promises to be a challenging stretch of games to begin the second half the schedule.

The October slate begins with Nova Southeastern (Oct. 3) at home, Barry (Oct. 6) on the road, followed by a rematch with Tampa (Oct. 10) and then wraps up the quick two-game home stand against reigning SSC regular season champion, Saint Leo on Oct. 13.

The Tars are then back on the road for games at Eckerd (Oct. 17) and Nova Southeastern (Oct. 20), before the regular season finishes at home vs. Florida Southern on Oct. 27.

The SSC Tournament is slated for campus sites on Oct. 30-Nov. 4 with NCAA tournament play set for Nov. 8-18.

The National Championship scheduled for Dec. 1, hosted by the Peach Belt Conference at Blanchard Woods Park in Evans, Ga.
