ORU Career Notes
Set school records by playing in and starting all 35 games as a freshman ... named Summit League Player of the Week once ... has played in 92 career games and made 61 starts and owns career averages of 10.7 points and 6.0 rebounds per game.
On his way to a possible all-conference season but suffered a leg injury on Dec. 27 that kept him out of eight-straight games … played in 23 games with 17 starts, including the final five games of the year … averaged 9.8 points and 6.4 rebounds per game … had a season-high 21 points at Central Arkansas (March 9) and followed it up with 21 points against UC Irvine in the second round of the CIT (March 25) … posted 10 double-figure scoring games and was second on the team with five double-doubles, including twice in postseason play … had 13 points and a season-high 16 rebounds against Belmont in the Great Alaska Shootout (Nov. 24), 13 points and 13 rebounds against Central Arkansas (Feb. 19), 21 points and 13 rebounds at Central Arkansas (March 9), 17 points, 11 rebounds against UT Arlington (March 20) and 21 points, 13 rebounds against UC Irvine (March 25).
Played in all 34 games and gave up his starting job nine games into the season, earning the Summit League Sixth Man of the Year award because of it ... also earned honorable mention All-Summit League honors ... tied career highs with 10 free throws against UTSA (Nov. 15), four assists against IPFW (Jan. 19) and two blocks against IUPUI (Feb. 9) ... also had a career high five steals against Xavier on Dec. 18 ... scored at least 10 points in 16 games and had two double-digit rebounding games, including the season-opener against West Virginia (Nov. 11) when he had a double-double with 11 points and 10 boards ... also had 12 rebounds, a season high, against Missouri State (Nov. 30) ... had a season-high 24 points at IPFW (Feb. 15) ... averaged 25.7 minutes per game off the bench and averaged 9.8 points and 5.3 rebounds per game.
Produced one of the top freshman seasons in ORU history, capping his rookie campaign by winning Summit League Newcomer of the Year honors … also named national Mid-Major Freshman of the Year by CollegeInsider.com … first league freshman to win the award since ORU’s Ken Tutt in 2004 … played in and started an ORU freshman record 35 games … led all Summit League newcomers in scoring (12.1) and total rebounds (223) … ranked eighth in rebounding and sixth in field-goal percentage in the Summit League … his rebound total was the highest by an ORU freshman since Caleb Green in 2003-04 … scored in double figures 23 times … recorded six double-doubles … just the fourth freshman to start a season-opener in Scott Sutton’s 12 seasons as head coach … enjoyed impressive debut at Missouri State, scoring 14 points on 6-of-8 FGs while also grabbing six boards … named Summit League Player of the Week on Feb. 28 after averaging 23 points and 12.5 rebounds in wins over IUPUI and Western Illinois … exploded for 27 points and 12 rebounds to lead ORU to crucial win over IUPUI … followed up that performance with 19 points and 13 rebounds against Western Illinois … 6-of-7 from the field in scoring 12 points against Pacific in ESPN BracketBuster contest at Mabee Center … had 13 points, six boards and three assists at Centenary … contributed 18 points, 10 rebounds, four assists and two steals in home win over South Dakota State … bounced back after sub-par effort vs. Southern Utah by scoring 17 points with seven rebounds, two assists and two steals against UMKC … key contributor in win at South Dakota State with 18 points, nine rebounds and four assists … had 17 points, four rebounds and three assists in loss at Akron … scored season-high 21 points against Oakland on 8-of-14 shooting from the field; also added five rebounds … recorded season’s third double-double with 11 points and 13 rebounds against UALR in the Las Vegas Holiday Hoops Classic … scored 14 points and grabbed five rebounds at Missouri … had 11 points, six rebounds and two steals in 22 minutes at Oklahoma … finished with 13 points, eight rebounds and two assists in win at IUPUI … recorded season’s second double-double with 15 points and 12 rebounds at Western Illinois … solid in win at Utah with 13 points and seven rebounds … turned in strong all-round effort in home win over UALR with 13 points, six rebounds and four assists … recorded first career double-double with 18 points and 13 rebounds vs. Indiana State, adding three steals … his 19 free throw attempts vs. Sycamores were most by an ORU player in four years … averaged 13.2 points and 7.1 rebounds in Summit League play.
2010 graduate of Maine Central Institute in Pittsfield, Maine … averaged 17.6 points and 6.9 rebounds in 29 games (27 starts) with the Huskies … shot 56 percent from the field and 68 percent from the free throw line while also averaging 2.5 assists and 1.8 steals ... led the Huskies in points, rebounds, steals and field-goal percentage … New England Preparatory School Athletic Council honorable mention selection … season’s best game was a 30-point, 22-rebound effort against Bridgton Academy in January ... spent his senior season at Patterson School in Lenoir, N.C., where he teamed with former Golden Eagle Hunter McClintock during the 2008-09 season.
