Became a valuable member of the pitching staff over the final two months … was scheduled to miss the 2010 season after undergoing Tommy John surgery the previous summer, but recovered faster than expected … appeared in 12 games with two starts, going 2-0 with two saves and a 5.18 ERA … struck out 19 batters in 24.1 innings … selected by the Chicago Cubs in the 41st round of the MLB Draft … made his season debut April 11 against Oakland, allowing a run and striking out the side in his only inning of work … picked up his first victory with 3.2 innings of shutout relief at IPFW (May 1) … struck out a season-high seven batters in five innings on his way to a victory over North Dakota State (May 21) … earned a save in the Summit League championship game with three scoreless innings against South Dakota State (May 29).
Spent the 2009 season at Seminole State College in Seminole, Okla. ... helped lead the Trojans to regional and district championships and a 10th-place finish at the NJCAA World Series ... went 4-4 on the mound with a 2.35 ERA and batted .300 at the plate.
2008 graduate of Jenks HS ... selected by the Toronto Blue Jays in the 37th round of the MLB Draft in 2008 ... played outfield and pitched ... earned all-conference, all-metro and All-State honors for the Trojans ... batted .385 with four home runs and 17 stolen bases ... posted a 4-1 record and 1.09 ERA with 34 strikeouts in 38.2 innings as a senior ... also played wide receiver in football, helping Jenks to a pair of state championships.
