WILMINGTON, N.C. - The fall season comes to an end this Sunday, as UNCG men's tennis claims a dozen wins over their weekend at the UNCW Team Invite in Wilmington.

The Spartans opened the competition with singles draws against Morgan State, taking three of six matches against the Bears thanks to a trio of victories from Nico Grewe, Ollie Palmer and Hugh Knapp. Knapp dispatched his opponent in straight sets, while ceding just a single game, while Palmer earned a victory on scores of 6-1 and 7-6 (8).

After falling to the hosting Seahawks 4-0 in doubles play on day one, UNCG bounced back with a sweep of the Bears on day two, with Grewe and Palmer combining for a 6-2 victory in the top seed. Roger Rogowski and Alexander Zuckerman delivered a 6-3 win in the second pairing as well, while Knapp and Eric Whisnant grabbed a 7-6 (6) victory in extras.

Day two would also provide Grewe's second singles win of the tournament, while competing against George Washington's third seed. He was one of three Spartans to come out on top in their individual matches against the Colonials, with Zuckerman and Cooper Wyett grabbing their first wins of the weekend as well.

While Grewe was forced to take his first singles loss against UNCW on day three, Knapp and Logan Blaser were both up to task against their Seahawk opponents. Both of the victorious Spartans dropped their opening set on the day, before coming back with consecutive victories to close out their individual weekends.

Blaser would find the win column once again later in the afternoon, combining with Wyett for a 6-1 doubles win over George Washington, as the pair went an even 1-1 when playing together in Wilmington.

With the fall campaign coming to a close, the Spartans next regulation test will have to wait until February 9th, when the side hosts visiting Winthrop in Greensboro.
