Academic All-America Team

AUSTIN, Texas (6/24/16) - Recent graduate Emily de La Bruyere has been named to the 2016 Academic All-America® Division I track & field/cross country team as selected by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA), it was announced this afternoon.

Earning her degree from the Woodrow Wilson School of Public and International Affairs, de La Bruyere is the recipient of the coveted Michel David-Weill Fellowship and a finalist for the Rhodes Scholarship. She is pursuing a master's in International Security in Paris.

de La Bruyere is the third Tiger to earn CoSIDA Academic All-America honors. Megan Brandeland '09 was a third-team honoree in 2009, while Julia Ratcliffe '17 was a first-team honoree in 2015.

A two-year captain, de La Bruyere is a three-time U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Association All-Academic and four-time Academic All-Ivy selection. She has twice been named academic all-district by CoSIDA. She was named the fall Princeton Student-Athlete Achiever Award after guiding her cross country team to the Ivy League championship and finishing third overall. A three-time all-region cross country runner, she has also competed at the NCAA cross country championships, though was not able to compete in 2015 because of her Rhodes interview.

A three-time NCAA Regional qualifier, she doubled her senior year in both the steeplechase and the 5,000. de La Bruyere was an eight-time Ivy League scorer for the Tigers in track & field. She holds Princeton top-5 times in the outdoor 5k steeplechase, 4x1500 and the indoor distance medley relay.
