Senior captain Devin Stearns returned to the All-EIVA team after ranking among the league's best hitters, while fellow captain Michael Bagnell capped his career as a member of the EIVA All-Academic Team.

Stearns ranked sixth in the EIVA with 3.56 kills per set, and he played some of his best volleyball during the final month of the season. He helped Princeton win its season finale at Sacred Heart with a 22-kill, eight-dig performance, and he finished the season with double-digit kills in each of his last eight matches.

Of course, his standout performance came during the opening week, when he posted 33 kills, the most in over a decade at Princeton, in a 3-2 loss at UC-San Diego.

"Devin has been a four-year starter for us and a consistent force in the league since his freshman year," head coach Sam Shweisky said. "A primary passer all four years, this year Devin was also our go-to attacker; he took nearly 600 swings, almost 200 more than any other Tiger. I am proud Devin was recognized by the league as one of the top 20 players, as it is definitely where he belongs.

"Devin, I tip my hat you on what you have done for this program. Thank you,” Shweisky added.

Bagnell had the tough responsibility of following four-year starter Tony Ensbury at the libero position, but he ranked sixth in the league with 2.16 digs per set. He had 26 digs in a weekend sweep of Charleston, and he added 12 in a five-set loss to Saint Francis.

"Mike Bagnell walked onto the team his freshman year and from day one, epitomized the values of hard work and team-first mentality," Shweisky said. "For four years, Mike has always done things the right way on the court as well as in the class room. Mike Bagnell is a true example of the Princeton Athletics core values, as he has achieved, served and led in his time here.

"Not since former libero Dexter Scobee ’12 have we had someone on the EIVA All-Academic team – and it is quite special to have Mike represent us," Shweisky added. "Congrats Mike, nice job.”
