The TD Arena Sports Medicine Department houses the Main Athletic Training Room for Cougar Athletics. The facility is located on the locker room level of the Carolina First Arena. It is divided into six areas which include taping stations, a hydrotherapy area, staff offices, a physician's exam room, a student study area, and the treatment and rehabilitation area.
The facility was opened in the spring of 2009 and it is approximately 3,000 square feet. The hydrotherapy room contains a polar plunge pool as well as the hydroworx warm therapy pool. The therapy pool is fitted with a submersed treadmill and resistive jets is used in the treatment of post-surgical patients and to meet advanced rehab needs of all student-athletes.
During the school year, three doctors' clinics and one massage therapy clinic are held each week in the athletic training room (for all of the student athletes' health care needs).
While all 20 teams use the facility it is the home to men's and women's basketball, volleyball, men's and women's cross country, women's track, men's and women's swimming and diving, equestrian, men's and women's golf, cheerleading, and dance teams.
The Athletic Training Room at Patriots Point is the sports medicine home to all of the traditional outside sports. These sports include men's and women's soccer, men's and women's tennis, baseball, softball, and sailing.
The facility is located on the west side of the Patriots Point Athletic Complex. It is divided into 4 areas which include the taping and wet area, main office, doctor's office and the treatment and rehabilitation room.
The facility was opened in the fall of 2000 and it is approximately 1625 square feet. Medical coverage is provided for all home games and practices out of this facility.
