PRINCETON, N.J. — Eight first-years made their collegiate debuts for the Columbia women’s rowing team on Sunday at the Princeton Chase. The newest Lions impressed with a fourth-place finish in the women’s novice 8+ final.

 

Sophomore coxswain Devon Bernsley joined first-years Honor Clements, Maeve Hogan, Kayla Abrams, Hope Weisman, Ruba Nadar, Carrie Hay Kellar, Samantha Stehley and Sawyer Norton in the Denise V. Seegal. The Lions defeated novice teams from North Carolina, Georgetown, Princeton and Rutgers in the 12-boat race. Columbia completed the course in 15:58.7.

The Lions complete the fall season in two weeks at the Rivanna Romp, scheduled for November 12 at Rivanna River in Charlottesville, Virginia.
