NEW YORK — Columbia volleyball’s Jamie Dailey was named Ivy League Rookie of the Week, as announced by the league office on Monday.

Dailey, an outside hitter, posted a .386 hitting percentage across Saturday’s two matches at the Art Carmichael Invitational. The first-year out of Newport Beach, California, hit .474 with 11 kills and four blocks in the morning session against Northeastern. That evening, she turned in a season-high 16 kills while hitting .342 with three blocks in a four-set victory over Rhode Island.

For the week, Dailey totaled 27 kills, seven blocks and 30.5 points across seven sets. She averaged 4.36 points, 3.86 kills and exactly 1.00 block per set. She was named to the Art Carmichael Invitational All-Tournament Team for her efforts.

The weekly honors are the first of Dailey’s career and the first for the Columbia volleyball program this season. Last year, Chichi Ikwuazom was named Rookie of the Week twice on her way to Co-Rookie of the Year honors. Grace Campbell also picked up one Rookie of the Week selection.

The Lions return to action on Friday when they host Fordham in the 2017 home opener. First serve from Levien Gymnasium is scheduled for 7 p.m.
