Six Tournaments on Tap for Men’s Tennis in the Fall

NEW YORK – After a trip to the NCAA Sweet Sixteen last season, the Columbia men’s tennis team will return to the courts this fall for six tournaments the Columbia Tennis Alumni and Friends Head Coach of Men’s Tennis Bid Goswami announced Monday afternoon.
The Lions head to Princeton New Jersey, for their first weekend of competition where a contingent of select schools will compete at the second annual Ivy Plus Invitational. The event is scheduled to run Friday, Sept. 19 through Sunday, Sept. 21. The following week Columbia travels to Philadelphia for the Penn Invitational.
The first weekend of October will feature select Columbia players head to Tulsa, Oklahoma, where the top collegiate players from across the country will converge for the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) All-American Championships hosted by Tulsa.
The first three weekends of action prep Columbia for the ITA Regional Championships hosted by Yale Oct. 16-21. If successful on the courts in New Haven, Connecticut, a trip for one or more Lion may await to compete at the USTA/ITA National Indoor Intercollegiate Championships in Flushing Meadows, New York (Nov. 6-9).
Columbia wraps up its fall slate with a trip to Orlando, Florida, for the ESPN/Florida State Open Oct. 31-Nov. 2.
