OGDEN, Utah – Weber State volleyball is excited to announce the 2017 schedule for this fall including three non-conference tournaments and a couple non-conference in-state rivalry games.
Weber State head coach, Jeremiah Larsen, entering his third season as the Wildcat's top man, hopes this year's schedule will build the team and prepare them for Big Sky Conference play.
“I'm very excited about our 2017 season schedule,” Larsen said. “We have scheduled much more competitively then we have done in the past in order to prepare us for our conference schedule. I think we are prepared for the challenge and excited to build on the foundation we have established the last two years.”
Weber State will open the 2017 season at the Arizona State Tournament Aug. 25-26, where the Wildcats will take on Arizona State, Boise State and North Dakota State.
The Wildcats will participate in two more tournaments the first of which will be hosted by Northridge with WSU taking on Northeastern and Pepperdine. The second tournament will be at UNLV with matchups against Louisville and UC Irvine.
Weber State's first home game will be Sept. 12 against Utah State followed by another in-state rivalry match against Utah Valley on Sept. 13. Weber State will then hit the road to take on BYU on Sept. 15.
Big Sky Conference play will start with a weekend on the road against Sacramento State and Portland State Sept. 21 and 23.
The Big Sky Conference tournament will be Nov. 16-18, with the top eight regular season finishers advancing to the postseason tournament hosted by the top seed.
All home games will be at 7 p.m. other times will be announced soon.
