TAMPA - Jason Pierre-Paul definitely earned the respect of his NFL peers in his second year in the league.
The former USF defensive end and current New York Giant ranked No. 24 on the NFL Network Top 100 List of 2012 that was voted by the league's players.
"I think it's an honor to be on the list and I'll continue to do what I have to do," Pierre-Paul told the NFL Network.
Pierre-Paul was a man quarterbacks saw often in 2011 when he registered 16.5 sacks (fourth in the NFL) and 86 tackles (most of any player with 10-plus sacks) on the way to helping the Giants win the Super Bowl. He now has 21 sacks in his two NFL seasons after becoming the 15th overall pick in the 2010 NFL Draft.
"I'm just trying to do whatever I can to help my team win," said Pierre-Paul in a recent ESPN New York article.
Pierre-Paul grabbed the attention of NFL scouts in his lone season as a Bull in 2009 when he totaled six sacks and 42 tackles. He also made an acrobatic interception in a 34-20 win at Syracuse that he returned 18 yards for a touchdown.
