"Shocker Fitness with coach bolt" is an effort by Wichita State University Track & Field Head Coach Steve Rainbolt (Coach Bolt) to provide a community exercise program for the Wichita area. His idea is patterned after a similar program in Lawrence, KS called Dog Days Fitness. Coach Bolt went and visited a Dog Days morning session and thought this would be a great way to bring together the community of Wichita and help raise money for Shocker Track & Field.

The Shocker Fitness program will be designed to provide excellent guidance for people of all backgrounds and capabilities. Participants will be men, women, and children of all ages. We will try to help everyone involved achieve their fitness goals and objectives. Workouts will be varied and give everyone a complete overall fitness session. Each session will include a warm-up, some type of a running or stadium stairs workout, and finish with a strength and conditioning circuit. Workouts will have energetic music, occasional guest speakers, and handouts regarding nutrition and off-day workout suggestions.

“Shocker Fitness with coach bolt” will be offered in several sessions throughout 2012. Each session will be comprised of three workouts a week for 10 weeks. The New Year's Resolution session runs Jan. 9-March 16. The Spring Training session runs March 19-May 25. The Six-Pack Summer runs May 28-Aug. 3.
