JONESBORO, Ark. (2/1/18) – The third-ranked Arkansas State women’s bowling team will be traveling to compete in the Prairie View A&M Invitational Feb. 2-4 at the International Training and Research Center in Arlington, Texas.
Competition will include each of the top five ranked teams: No. 1 Nebraska, No. 2 McKendree, No. 4 Vanderbilt, No. 5 Sam Houston State along with the Red Wolves. The remaining teams competing are No. 7 Stephen F. Austin, No. 8 Maryland Eastern Shore, No. 10 Farleigh Dickinson, No. 12 Sacred Heart, No. 17 North Carolina A&T, No. 19 Louisiana Tech and host No. 25 Prairie View A&M.
The tournament begins Friday morning at 12:15 p.m. with five sets of five-game Baker matches, followed by five traditional team matches on Saturday morning, beginning at 9:25 a.m. The teams will then play another traditional team match on Sunday at 8:25 a.m. before two best-of-seven Baker matches in bracket format to conclude the tournament.
A-State (45-20) finished fourth during last season’s Prairie View A&M Invitational as Jordan Richard finished atop the individual standings to win the event’s MVP award. The Red Wolves are coming off a sixth place finish and 9-4 record during the Kutztown Invitational last weekend.
