2015 Colorado Basketball Camp For Girls


University of Colorado Basketball Camp for Girls is open to any and all girls, of all abilities, limited only by grade level.

Elite Skill Camp

Date/Time: June 13, 1-4 p.m.
Registration: 12-12:50 p.m.
Cost: $40
Age: Grade 8-12

The Elite Skill Camp is designed to take your game to the next level. Emphasis will be placed on developing high level skills while receiving individualized instruction from the CU coaching staff.  Advanced individual and team concepts focusing on offensive and defensive fundamentals will also be taught.


Elite Post/Guard Camp

Date/Time: June 13, 6-9 p.m.
Registration: 5:30-5:50 p.m.
Cost: $40
Age: Grade 8-12

The Post/Guard Camp is designed specifically to help campers become better at their position.  We will break down what it takes to be an elite point guard, off guard, and post player.  Each breakout group will be led by a member of the CU coaching staff and will emphasize both physical and mental skills each position requires to be successful. There will be sessions for each position individually but also a chance to work together in 2 player and 3 player actions.


Elite Shooting Camp

Date/Time: June 14, 9:30 a.m. - 12:30 p.m.
Registration: 8:45-9:20 a.m.
Cost: $40
Age: Grade 8-12

In this specialized camp, we will teach campers proper shot mechanics, footwork, and mindset needed to become a great shooter.  We will also provide drills that campers can take with them to work on throughout the summer months.  There will be an emphasis on making game shots at game spots at game speed. 

*Elite Campers needing to stay overnight can stay at the University dorms for an extra $40 which includes one night of lodging on June 13th  as well as breakfast on June 14th. For more information contact Miriam Rutzen at miriam.rutzen@colorado.edu .


Little Dribblers Camp

Dates: June 15-18
Camp Hours: 9 a.m.- 12 p.m. each day
Registration: June 15 7:45-8:45 a.m. Coors Events Center
Cost: $150
Ages: 5-9 years old

Little Dribblers Camp is for the first time camper or a camper who would benefit from a half-day camp. Campers will learn age appropriate locomotor movements and basketball skills in a fun and non-threatening atmosphere. Games such as red light-green light, follow the leader, Simon says, and relays will be played with a basketball to introduce basic skills. Sportsmanship and teamwork will be emphasized and the rules of the game will be introduced. Snacks will be provided during break time. Baskets will be lowered to ensure camper success.


Individual Camp

Dates: June 15-18
Camp Hours: 9 a.m.-4 p.m. each day
Registration: June 15 7:45-8:45 a.m. Coors Events Center
Cost: $300
Ages: 9-14 years old

Individual Camp is a great opportunity for any player looking to develop and refine their fundamental skills in a fun and entertaining atmosphere. The sessions will offer specialized basketball instruction in both offensive and defensive areas. Camp highlights include awards and contest such as free throws, 1-on-1, 3-on-3, and hot shot. Campers will also compete in 5-on-5 games throughout the day. All campers will be divided into teams based upon age and ability. Lunch will be provided to campers only on the last day of camp.


Shooting Camp

Dates: June 19
Camp Hours: 9 a.m.-3 p.m.
Registration: June 19 8-8:45 a.m. Coors Events Center
Cost: $75
Ages: 8-18 years old

This camp is designed to improve footwork, shooting technique and accuracy through instruction and repetition. Each camper will be taught the fundamental approach to shooting through a step-by-step shooting progression --the lay-up, set shot, pull up jumper, shooting off screens, and the 3-point shot. Everything you need to become more of an offensive threat. Camp highlights include: games and competitions, lower baskets for younger campers. Lunch will be provided to all campers.


Team Camp

Dates: June 26-28
Check In: June 26, Registration begins at 4 p.m.
Cost: $600
Ages: High School

Come take advantage of building team chemistry and skill through 5 on 5 play at the Colorado Team Camp.  We guarantee 6 games and 1 time and score situation.  Games will be played in the Coors Events Center and Practice Facility.  Varsity and JV levels are available.

Camp Features:

Health Care and Insurance:

All campers will be covered by a group accident policy provided by the camp at no cost.  Camp insurance is secondary to the camper's primary personal insurance.

A certified athletic trainer will be on site at all times during camp hours.

What to Bring:

All campers should wear gym shorts, T-shirt, 1-2 pair of socks, basketball shoes and ankle braces if necessary. Please leave all jewelry and valuables at home. All campers will need to bring a sack lunch for Individual Camp.

To Register On-line:

  • A non-refundable non-negotiable deposit is due when you register for any Elite, Individual, Little Dribblers, or Shooting camps. Elite Camps require a $25 deposit PER CAMP. Individual, Little Dribbler, and Shooting camp require a $50 deposit PER CAMP. Team camp requires a $200 deposit made by High School Head Coach ONLY. This fee is non-negotiable due to having to cover credit card and online registration fees.
  • Any remaining balance will be charged to your credit card on June 1, 2015.
  • Any campers signing up after June 1, will need to pay in full at the time of registration.
  • After receiving your on-line application, you will receive a confirmation letter detailing final check-in procedures.
  • Discounts - CU employees, contact Miriam Rutzen at Miriam.rutzen@colorado.edu for information on a CU employee discount and to receive a coupon code. The 10% Early Bird discount will apply until February 28th.

Refund Policy:

All cancellations must be received in writing or faxed BEFORE the beginning of camp.  No shows will be charged the amount of their deposit. THIS DEPOSIT AMOUNT IS NON-REFUNDABLE AND NON-NEGOTIABLE.


Camp will be held in the Events Center practice facility, Coors Events Center main court, Balch Field House and the Events Center outdoor courts.

The Colorado Girl's Basketball Camps are designed to provide a rewarding experience to campers of all ages, abilities, and levels. The camp will be centrally located at the University of Colorado's Coors Events Center-home of the CU Men's and Women's Basketball teams. The camp staff will consist of the Colorado Women's Basketball coaching staff, current and former CU players, as well as regional college and high school coaches. Fundamental instruction, individual and team competition will be a part of all camp activities. Be a part of the CU experience and join us this summer!
