Doha, Qatar – Former LSU sprinter Vernon Norwood finished 10th overall at the 2019 IAAF World Championships in the 400 meters in Doha, Qatar, on Wednesday.
Norwood clocked a time of 45.00 in the 400 meter dash to take fourth in the second of three heats. With the top two from each heat automatically moving on, Norwood was eliminated on time after the completion of all three heats.
Norwood was a four-time NCAA champion, eight-time All-American and a nine-time All-SEC performer during his two years of competition for LSU in 2014 and 2015.
Norwood will be relay candidate for Team USA on Saturday and Sunday in the 4x400 meter relay.
